We’re on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Platform Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing, optimising, and evolving the Datacore Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform - enabling the delivery of critical digital products that power our business.

You’ll help shape our digital future optimising the infrastructure/applications and technology that make up the platform focusing on improving efficiency and consistency.

As part of our Digital Engineering practice, you’ll be embedded within a high-energy, fast-paced environment, collaborating with talented professionals across disciplines. You’ll work closely with our wider engineering community teams, driving improvements, identifying opportunities for continuous service optimisation, and ensuring our Datacore capabilities keep pace with business needs.

We work in a truly agile way, so experience with methodologies like DevOps, Scrum, LESS, or Kanban is essential. As a Platform Engineer, working within our Operational Technology (DataCore) team you’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining and enhancing our Datacore cloud infrastructure. Monitoring performance, load, and security using Azure-native tools, and taking proactive action.

  • Ensuring our digital products meet service commitments and provide automated performance insights
  • Automating provisioning, testing, and deployment processes
  • Leading and contributing to Communities of Practice to drive continuous improvement and innovation

What does it take to be a Platform Engineer?

We’re looking for someone who truly embodies our values - doing the right thing, building trust, and always exploring new ways to improve. Take ownership of risks and support robust risk management.

  • Support our Digital Engineering Centre for Enablement and Communities of Practice
  • Amazon Web Service, Azure (preferred) and Google Cloud Platform
  • Supporting DevOps and DataOps practices, including CI/CD for pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
  • Proficient in an Infrastructure coding language (YAML, PowerShell, BICEP, JSON, Python) and tooling (Ansible/Terraform etc)
  • Recognised Microsoft certification or significant experience
  • Understanding of Agile delivery frameworks and methodologies
  • Working Knowledge of Service Management processes, specifically Change, Incident, Event, Configuration and Problem Management
