Integrated Maintenance, Repair & Development Services (IMRDS) Alliance – Part of the Anglian Water network, focuses on infrastructure maintenance work and is responsible for: water network pressure management, finding and fixing leaks, replacing lead pipes and repairing burst mains.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Development Services team for a Project Delivery Manager. Your role will be to manage new water main installation projects for development sites across the North of our region.
The Project Delivery Manager will work closely with the Project Delivery Coordinator managing the lifecycle of a project and with the Pre-Construction Team to provide industry leading design standards. You will work collaboratively across all Developer Services Teams and our contract partners to establish smooth and efficient workflow processes, sharing a clear and joint vision (North Star) whilst maintaining overall accountability for the entire project.
The post holder will support Developers through construction activities, ensuring compliance with Construction (Design & Management) Regs 2015 and Water Quality practices (POSWSH). This role will be responsible for ensuring that all new assets are installed and commissioned to Anglian Water's minimum asset standards, and for the effective handover of commissioned mains to our operational colleagues.
Through effective stakeholder management this role will deliver the most cost-effective solution that allows us to live within our determination. This role will have joint responsibility for delivering key Outcome Delivery Incentives, specifically around DMeX and will also support other ODI's including I2S, Water Quality and CMEX.
The Project Delivery Manager is responsible for managing project expenses ensuring costs are controlled within budget by verification of contract partner service item claims and third-party invoices. You will carry out a full reconciliation of costs at project completion stage comparing planned versus actual costs to provide accurate evidence of costs for final invoice and to provide valuable feedback to the Pre-Construction team on any change of scope.

What does it take to be a Project Delivery Manager?
- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent (preferably in a relevant subject such as Engineering) and demonstrate significant Project Management and commercial awareness.
- Experience of identifying, developing and managing new business opportunities.
- Sound Understanding of Construction Design Management.
- Ability to build excellent customer relationships and possess strong negotiating and influencing skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt and change and to think strategically and analytically.
- Utility knowledge desirable.
- Knowledge of water fittings and materials or similar.
- Attention to detail coupled with excellent time management and strong IT skills are key ideally looking for experience in all Microsoft Office packages.
- A water distribution engineering background would be an advantage.
