What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the full project lifecycle – from feasibility studies and design through to construction and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards while seeking opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
  • Produce technical deliverables such as calculations, data sheets, and specifications.
  • Design electrical systems for clean water or waste water treatment plants.
  • Develop and integrate control, monitoring, and telemetry systems.
  • Design instrumentation systems and main incoming electrical supply arrangements.
  • Deliver electrical installation designs, including for hazardous areas.
  • Prepare subcontract specifications and undertake technical bid evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, health and safety requirements, and quality processes.
  • Attend site surveys and provide technical support during delivery.
  • Monitor progress against cost and programme, escalating issues where required.
  • Drive innovation by researching and introducing new processes, tools, and ways of working.

About You

You're a motivated and collaborative electrical engineer with a strong technical background and enthusiasm to learn and grow. You thrive in a team environment, build trust through integrity, and bring energy and resilience to every challenge.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree or higher technical qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and understanding of inter-related disciplines.
  • Proven experience delivering electrical designs for clean water or waste water projects.
  • Demonstrable experience with instrumentation and control systems, including monitoring, telemetry, and automation solutions.
  • Ability to produce and review engineering calculations, specifications, and technical schedules.
  • Solid project engineering experience within utilities, infrastructure, or related industries.
  • Proficiency with relevant engineering software and strong IT skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and a collaborative working style.

It would also be beneficial to have:

  • Experience designing electrical systems in hazardous areas.
  • Familiarity with supplier engagement, technical bid analysis, and procurement processes.
  • Previous involvement in delivering multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
