We are looking for maternity cover for a Scheduling Strategy & Configuration Manager to lead the strategic development, configuration, and continuous improvement of our Scheduling & Mobility solutions. This is a pivotal role shaping how we plan, schedule, and deliver work across Operational Services - driving environmental risk reduction, efficiency, and service improvement. This is a really exciting opportunity with the scope for you to deliver and build on our AMP strategies. You will gain the exposure of working with a wide range of stakeholders from all across the business and will be confident delivering to Exco.
Reporting to the Head of Ops Planning and Scheduling, you'll manage a team of Centre of Excellence (CoE) Configuration leads and own and be accountable for delivering the long term roadmap for our Field Service Management platform, ensuring alignment with business goals, DDaT principles, and industry best practice. You will own and manage our relationship with Oracle Field Service.
You will be working as part of the Planning and Scheduling Leadership team and will be leading on your areas as part of our capability maturity. Your team are your technical experts so strategy and leadership are key to the success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy, roadmap, and ongoing development of our scheduling and mobility solutions, ensuring all enhancements and configuration changes deliver measurable business value and align with best practice.
- Drive continuous improvement by analysing work management processes, directing optimisation activity, prioritising change, and enabling effective Agile delivery across the CoE team.
- Oversee team leadership, governance, and compliance - aligning the CoE to performance targets, preparing audit documentation, and deputising for the Head of Ops Planning & Scheduling where required.
- Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, building strong cross‑functional relationships and ensuring clear communication, alignment, and understanding of system changes across the organisation.
- Manage the partnership with our Scheduling & Mobility solution provider, owning the Customer Success Plan and influencing product direction through active external engagement.
Role Requirements:
- Degree level qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience of Agile methodologies with a track record of leading Agile teams.
- Extensive stakeholder management experience at all levels of an organisation.
- Proven strategic leadership capability with experience driving digital or operational transformation.
- Deep understanding and awareness of operational issues.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, engaging communication for business audiences.
- Strong coaching, facilitation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Resilience, creativity, collaboration skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Experience with Oracle Field Service or other Field Service Management solutions (desirable).
