In this role, you will lead the engineering maintenance standards for Bioresources assets, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and robust technical governance. You will translate complex requirements into practical standards and working methods, collaborating with engineers, technicians and suppliers. The role supports risk-based decision-making and continuous improvement in asset reliability and process safety. This is a high-impact position shaping engineering foundations across maintenance operations with a focus on legacy and emerging technologies in a critical utility domain.

Responsibilities

  • Own and develop engineering maintenance standards for Bioresources assets (CHP, gas, SRP, sludge treatment)
  • Apply risk-based thinking to ensure standards are practical and fit-for-purpose
  • Ensure standards meet OEM, statutory, regulatory and process safety requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers, specialists and suppliers to embed standards into plans and procedures
  • Provide technical governance, identify risks, variances and improvement opportunities
  • Define and maintain competency and authorisation requirements for work
  • Build resilience across specialist skills and out-of-hours maintenance capability
  • Shape future capability through new technology, digital and predictive maintenance
  • Drive consistency in engineering standards across operations

Key requirements

  • Engineering, maintenance or asset management experience in industrial/utilities/process environment
  • Ability to interpret technical/OEM requirements into practical standards
  • Experience governing maintenance standards, strategies and documentation
  • Strong understanding of asset reliability, engineering risk, process safety and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in technical assurance, competency management and risk-based decision-making
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to challenge and drive standards
