Circa 42,312 dependent on skills and experience. Permanent, 37 hours (full time) with flexibility for part time working in Huntingdon.

Dive into a world of opportunity, and join our team! We are looking for a Group Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit team. This role will play a key role in strengthening governance, risk and compliance by providing assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of key and material controls over our Principal, top tier, and business risks.

You will work closely with other members of the Group Internal Audit team as well as with other owners, subject matter experts, and senior leaders across the organisation to become a trusted advisor.

Key responsibilities:
  • End to end delivery of internal audits to deliver our risk-based audit plan across multiple business units.
  • Apply critical thinking, analytical thinking and professional scepticism to challenge constructively and drive meaningful improvement.
  • Ensure outputs across planning, fieldwork and reporting are timely, accurate and align to Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Develop and perform appropriate testing strategies to assess the design and effectiveness of key controls, identifying process and control improvements to enhance business performance and provide insight to senior management.
  • Produce clear, concise and impactful reports to articulate findings, root causes and practical recommendations concisely to address control failures, in the context of strategic, operational, financial and regulatory priorities.
  • Build trusted relationships across a range of stakeholders through collaboration and communication to gain buy-in and trust in what we do.
  • Support in the development of the Group Internal Audit team by sharing learnings and insights to ensure we remain flexible and adaptable to organisational and industry changes.

  • Experience of working within a large organisation.
  • Experience of working within Internal Audit or other related Assurance roles balancing a portfolio of audits.
  • Able to think strategically and be a problem solver willing to constructively challenge the business and make a meaningful difference to Anglian Water.
  • Be a delivery-focused self-starter who thrives in a complex environment to deliver our risk-based audit plan.
  • Able to influence stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Strong report writing skills, and a logical thinker with excellent numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to build relationships at all levels.
  • Inquisitive, methodical, analytical, with a good eye for detail to challenge control design and effectiveness.
