Our Water Services team clean water to the highest standard, deliver it to millions of homes, and carefully manage it to ensure it never runs out. We borrow water from the environment, store it and treat it to world‑class standards to supply safe drinking water to 4.3 million customers in towns and villages from Grimsby in the northeast of our region to Milton Keynes at the south‑western tip.
The Continuous Improvement Manager will play a key role in driving technical improvement and innovation across Supply Maintenance Delivery. You'll analyse current processes, introduce new technical solutions, and develop business cases that help us deliver safer, more efficient and more effective maintenance operations. Working closely with delivery teams and stakeholders, you will champion change, standardise ways of working, and ensure improvements are fully embedded to support a high performing, best in class delivery route.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies aligned to departmental goals.
- Identify, evaluate and introduce innovative technical solutions, including leading pilots and trials.
- Analyse and enhance maintenance delivery processes, addressing shortfalls and driving efficiency.
- Create and present business cases and track delivery of benefits and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Supply to ensure effective communication and change adoption.
- Support a consistent approach to processes, products and policies across SMD.
- Manage risks, elevate issues where required and ensure improvements are embedded sustainably.
- Drive productivity, reduce waste and help shift maintenance approaches from reactive to proactive.
- Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement and data‑led decision making.
Requirements:
- Strong experience delivering improvement, innovation and change initiatives.
- Experience managing and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Excellent organisational, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to balance priorities and lead teams through change.
- Commercial awareness and experience developing business cases.
- Customer focused mindset with a commitment to high standards of safety.
- Degree (or equivalent) desirable.
