As part of our AMP8 programme, we're delivering an unprecedented £11bn investment across our region. This includes the UK's first Advanced Water Reuse (AWR) scheme in Colchester - a nationally significant, first-of-its-kind project that will play a key role in securing resilient water supplies for the future.
We're now looking for an experienced Stakeholder Engagement Manager to lead engagement for this high-profile and sensitive scheme.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the end-to-end statutory and non-statutory stakeholder engagement strategy for the Advanced Water Reuse project.
- Work at the heart of the programme, shaping perceptions, building trust and supporting the consents needed to enable successful delivery.
- Lead the stakeholder engagement and consultation strategy to support planning consent under the Town & Country Planning Act, including EIA-related engagement.
- Act as a senior representative for Anglian Water with local authorities, MPs, councillors, regulators, landowners and community groups.
- Deliver clear, inclusive and transparent engagement to help communities understand and have confidence in water reuse.
- Provide stakeholder insight, risk intelligence and advice to senior leaders and programme teams.
- Manage issues and complaints sensitively and effectively, protecting Anglian Water's reputation.
- Lead, coach and develop a small stakeholder engagement team, setting high standards and building capability.
What you'll bring
- Significant experience leading stakeholder and community engagement for major infrastructure schemes, ideally in regulated sectors.
- A strong understanding of the UK planning environment, including TCPA and EIA processes.
- Experience engaging on sensitive or controversial issues, building trust through transparency and clear communication.
- The ability to explain complex technical or environmental information in an accessible way.
- Strong relationship-building skills with politicians, regulators and communities.
