In this pivotal role, you'll be at the heart of our Regulation Compliance Team, working closely with operational colleagues to validate, assess, and strengthen compliance across drinking water quality and environmental performance. Your expertise will help ensure our reporting is accurate, robust, and trusted by regulators and stakeholders alike.
This is more than a compliance role - it's an opportunity to liaise with our Regulators and influence the direction of the water industry. You'll represent Anglian Water in national forums and policy discussions, helping shape future regulatory guidance and championing best practice across the sector. Internally, you'll support teams with continuous improvement, embedding learning from scientific investigations and driving higher standards across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Provide independent assurance over compliance documentation and data produced by first-line teams, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.
- Identify inconsistencies and advise on remedial actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Represent Anglian Water in national forums and policy development discussions.
- Prepare detailed reports and contribute to regulatory submissions and internal decision-making.
- Implement compliance monitoring procedures and support targeted investigations.
- Promote continuous improvement, including embedding learning from investigations and assurance activities into business-as-usual practices.

What does it take to be successful?
- Degree or equivalent qualification in environmental science, water regulation, policy, or related discipline.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build trust.
- Proficiency with reporting tools and data management.
- Curious, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
