Permanent / Full-time / 37 hours per week.

Flexible location: remote or any Anglian Water office, with occasional travel to Lancaster House (Huntingdon) and Thorpe Wood House for meetings/training.

Based within the Anglian Water region you will work from home most of the time but will be assigned an office location as base. Travel will be required to the central offices in Huntingdon and Peterborough for monthly and ad hoc meetings and occasionally to other sites.

Part of the Leakage Strategy team, we focus on analysing water distribution network flow and pressure data to enable us to report leakage levels. This reported data is used for our internal stakeholders to enable effective leakage detection targeting, targeting of projects for schemes to reduce leakage, as well as for reporting our leakage data to our regulators.

What will you be doing as a Leakage Analyst?

While in this role, you will be required to analyse leakage data using water distribution flow meters across the Anglian Water network at the boundaries of our District Metered Areas (DMAs) and Distribution Zones. You will proactively carry out audits and identify anomalies to recommend improvements that reduce leakage and strengthen recovery performance. You are responsible for identifying erroneous data, determining root causes, defining the resolution action, raising tasks for maintenance technicians to resolve where appropriate, monitor and progress the resolution of tasks. You will gain an in-depth knowledge of the Anglian Water distribution network from Source to Tap and how this impacts leakage reporting. You will produce robust and accurate leakage reports which are a key component used to report the company level leakage figures to our internal stakeholders and our Regulators.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating regular and ad hoc reports to show the current leakage position within Anglian Water.
  • Review and analyse time series flow data and pressure data on Anglian Water meters.
  • Raise/monitor faults on flow meters or lead investigations into zonal configuration changes where needed.
  • Liaise with various teams across Anglian Water to help reduce leakage and improve our reporting operability.
  • Ensure that the reporting system is kept up to date with water network configurations.
  • Identify distribution network changes to ensure leakage investigations are directed to the correct area.

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours:

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience of using Office 365.
  • SAP, GIS, IRIS, 1Customer and Power BI knowledge would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to conflicting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and a high level of standards.
  • Able to self-manage own workloads and time management.
  • Possess operational or analytical experience that demonstrates your capability in this area.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures to ensure consistent results.
  • An interest to learn about all aspects of the Source to Tap network and leakage.
