Salary dependent on skills and experience + business use of a company van. Permanent, Full time, 37 hours a week. Monday to Friday 8am-4pm (Flexible working opportunities available). Bedford, Cambridge or surrounding area.

Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. Would you like to be part of a team responsible for the safe and sustainable operation and maintenance of our water recycling assets?

What will you be doing?

Reporting into the Plant and Equipment Supervisor, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of Anglian Water's diverse inventory of mobile plant. This ranges from small pumps to telehandlers and tractors.

Duties will include:

  • Ensuring all items of mobile plant are serviced and inspected in line with the company, manufacturer and Health and Safety criteria and schedules for that item.
  • Maintaining sufficient stock of service parts on your van and/or at your aligned workshop.
  • Repairing defects reported by the business users of plant items.
  • Understanding and demonstrating knowledge of business priorities to offer a fast and efficient repair service to ensure that the business is not adversely affected.
  • Establish and form relationships with local parts and service providers to ensure you have support as and when required.
  • Keeping the fleet management system updated with the hours you have worked, and parts/stock used logged to ensure our service records are up to date.

What does it take to be a Mobile Plant Technician?

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in Light Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Confident user of IT.
  • Strong communication and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and use your own initiative.
  • Full Manual UK driving license is essential.
