Circa £40,883 (depending on skills & experience) 2x Permanent / Full-time / 37 hours per week. (Flexible Working Opportunities available) Regional Role (Base location can be any Anglian Water main office or business hub (Huntingdon, Peterborough, Lincoln, Norwich or Colchester) Hybrid - (Minimum 2 days in office per week)

Anglian Water operates in a complex, fast-moving environment with changing weather patterns, a rapidly growing population and evolving environmental legislation. To make sure our water and water recycling assets are prepared, we plan for the next 25 years using our Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) and the Drainage and Water Recycling Management Plan (DWMP). These plans bring together different scenarios for the future of the East of England, allowing us to determine the long-term strategies needed to ensure our investments are resilient.

We're looking for two Assistant Project Managers to support the delivery of the next round of these strategic plans, covering the period 2030 to 2055. Working closely with Project Managers, you'll help ensure projects are delivered to time, cost and quality, while developing your skills and experience within a supportive and high-profile programme environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for graduates or early career professionals looking for a career within project management. You'll gain exposure across the business, working with a wide range of teams, stakeholders and consultants, while building core project management skills within a high profile, regulated environment that supports long-term career development.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting Project Managers with day-to-day project delivery activities, including schedules, budgets and quality management
  • Maintaining project plans, action logs, decision logs and supporting documentation
  • Producing project reporting, including risk, change, cost and progress reports
  • Managing small packages of work under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Supporting cost tracking, forecasting and reporting to internal stakeholders
  • Assisting with preparation and quality assurance of regulatory submissions and supporting documents
  • Coordinating with the Project Management Office to ensure governance and reporting requirements are met
  • Supporting internal and external stakeholder engagement activities
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of project processes and ways of working
  • Promoting Health, Safety and Wellbeing across all project activities

What we're looking for

  • Experience supporting or managing projects within a structured delivery environment
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong IT skills and ability to analyse data and produce reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative while contributing effectively within a team
  • Confidence to challenge, identify issues and propose solutions
  • Motivated to develop a career in project management (e.g. working towards AMP PMQ or equivalent)
