Home working and ideally Peterborough or Cambridge (although you can be based anywhere in the Anglian Water region; Milton Keynes, Lincoln, Norwich).

Full time, 37 hours a week.

Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role offers you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. Your base location will ideally be in Peterborough or Cambridge (but you can be based anywhere within the Anglian Water Region).

Working with the Water Resources team, related business units and trusted consultants, the Water Resources Planning Analyst (WRPA) will be responsible for collating, interpreting, maintaining and reporting key company information; namely the Water Resource Management Plan (WRMP) tables and associated datasets. A keen analytical eye and a strong numerical background will aid in these essential company processes.

The WRPA will need to have extensive knowledge of Excel, and ideally PowerBI and GIS software, to allow the maintenance and creative rebuilding of the necessary models, as well as the manipulation of data to test different scenarios.

Excellent communication skills will be required to build the stakeholder relationships required to ensure that data is accurate and up to date. Assisting the Demand Forecasting Manager to deliver associated Water Resources East (WRE) and WRMP demand programmes of work will also be an essential part of the role. This will include maintaining and helping to develop demand forecast models, responding to information requests and attending meetings as necessary. The WRPA will also play a key role in writing up any methodologies and reports.

What does it take to be a Water Resources Planning Analyst?

  • Knowledge of water utilities business reporting would be preferable - but not essential
  • Proven track record of building and manipulating datasets, models and data modelling
  • Experience of building and managing productive, credible business relationships
  • Strong history of utilising Excel
  • Database/programming experience
  • PowerBI knowledge
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement
  • Innovative approach to solving problems
