Salary from £26,500 per annum Permanent. Nestled in 4,200 acres of beautiful countryside, Rutland Water is the perfect place to work for those who love the outdoors. From thrilling watersports to relaxing nature walks, our park has something for everyone – and our cafés are at the heart of it all.
What will you be doing? As a Café Cook, you’ll play a vital role in creating a welcoming experience for our visitors. Whether it’s serving up deliciously prepared meals, fresh snacks, barista coffee, or keeping our cafés clean and inviting, you’ll be the friendly face that helps make their day. You will also be responsible for preparing fresh buffets for our room hires, as well as delivering a hearty early morning breakfast and cooking fresh evening meals for our fishing competitions.
As Rutland Water is operational 7 days a week, 52 weeks per year (excluding Christmas Day), you will need to be flexible to work across peak seasons and major events within the calendar, and step in to help across multiple cafés where needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- The preparation of food and ensuring quality standards are met
- Maintaining high levels of hygiene, food safety, and compliance
- Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and controlling costs
- Driving efficiency and enhancing the overall customer experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role
- Great teamwork skills
- A positive, can-do attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Flexibility to work weekends and Bank Holidays
