What you’ll be doing

You’ll report directly to the Performance Manager IOS and provide effective control and complete visibility of the progress of standalone and parcel jobs that deliver the IOS capital programme. Using programme‑management practices and tools, you will enable clarity of our capital delivery programme, project risks, and resources associated with works across IOS. You will manage effective connections with Project Delivery Managers and their teams to ensure control via programme management for early identification of deviation from project plans, and you will provide timely and rigorous information‑management reporting from inception through to completion to generate efficiencies, manage risks and issues, and capture lessons learned while ensuring the programme stays within governance.

Responsibilities & Key Skills

  • Ensure standalone, parcel and project details are maintained throughout their lifecycles.
  • Liaise with Project Delivery Managers and Project Engineers to review project programmes and report back to Programme Managers.
  • Work closely with the Project Delivery teams to provide succinct and clear information and ensure smooth and successful project delivery.
  • Develop methodology for driving improved data records within corporate systems such as Activ to ensure regular and comprehensive status updates are achieved by the relevant parties.
  • Challenge plans and generate a focus on planning from final delivery milestones to ensure that anticipated goals are met throughout delivery rather than only working to the Delivery Milestone 4.
  • Produce regular progress reports on all projects to help inform Delivery On Time, risks and issues, and IOS overall performance.
  • Ensure robust evidence is regularly updated and auditable to confirm the required efficiencies have been achieved.
  • Lead on maintaining and updating the IOS Risk and Opportunity Log, ensuring information is accurate, current, and reflects emerging and ongoing risks, working closely with delivery teams to capture progress updates and report critical and high‑level risks to IOS Leadership Meetings.
  • Experience of managing or working in a project team.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of risk analysis.
