Join Anglian Water's Strategic Pipeline Alliance as an Electrical (EICA) Design Engineer. Location: Flexible/Hybrid work from Peterborough office and home. Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent.

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about contributing to one of the UK’s most ambitious water infrastructure projects? The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for an Electrical (EICA) Design Engineer to support and enhance our project delivery team.

What will you be doing as our new Electrical (EICA) Design Engineer?

  • You will be embedded within the SPA delivery team and be responsible for several project design outputs, information flow and consistency of approach.
  • You will monitor workload and liaise with Production Line Leads, Design Leads, and other discipline Designers alongside this role.
  • You will be responsible for, and lead, the production of detailed electrical design elements.
  • You will provide robust, innovative, and optimised designs for an industry significant project, to deliver value for money; acting as a proactive problem-solver applying engineering principles.
  • You will be responsible for outline and detailed electrical deliverables for implementing the design and delivery stage of a series of potable water pumping station and reservoir projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Producing and checking of single line diagrams, DNO supply applications to completion, generator system specifications, MCC specifications, Electrical Installation Specifications, System Architecture Diagrams, package plant specifications, WIMES datasheets, reviewing supplier designs, Factory Acceptance Tests, Water Quality Instrumentation, and telemetry systems.
  • You will input to process control, Intelligent P&IDs, 3D models, HAZOP and LOPA studies.
  • Report to the SPA EICA Discipline Lead and working for the Design Lead; work with Supply Chain Designers, Offshore Designers, SPA Planners and Delivery Teams.
  • Be responsible for the development of technical solutions from concept selection through design development to construction status and handover.
  • Understand the importance of design interactions from solutions, production, and delivery.
  • Embrace digital transformation throughout design, including the creation of a Digital Twin.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Co-ordinate the production of construction drawings in CAD, BIM, and GIS environment.
  • Have an ability to embrace digital delivery, e.g., intelligent P&ID’s.
  • Provide technical support and input to Client meetings.

This job might be for you if you have:

  • Experience in outline and detailed design of water industry applications.
  • Experience in Design and Build projects.
  • Experience in witness testing.
  • Experience in selection and design of Instrumentation, control systems and automation equipment in a process environment.
  • Knowledge of BS7671 latest edition.
