Circa £55,000 - £65,000 (Depending on skills & experience) Full time 37 hrs a week Permanent Hybrid – Peterborough, Lincoln or Huntingdon office with travel to offices and sites across the Anglian Water region.

Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role provides you with hybrid working. Your base can either be in our Peterborough, Huntingdon or Lincoln office, with travel to sites across the West of the Anglian Water region.
Delivering safe and effective maintenance and engineering services across Anglian Water, we are Maintenance and Engineering Services the newly formed team with the clear objective to provide a professional, collaborative and cost-effective service to our colleagues across the businesses and supporting them in delivery of our business plan objectives.
Our services include:
- Electrical statutory compliance providing a planned electrical maintenance and advice service
- Statutory compliance services for areas such as lifting equipment and pressure vessels
- Estate management such as legionella, grounds maintenance and air conditioning
- Providing project engineering delivery and having an in-house engineering workshop service means we not only deliver fabrication, repair and service exchange services but also support and encourage the continuing professional development of in-house learning of key engineering skills.
We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. The role will be responsible for the leadership and performance of all capital delivery within a geographical area. You’ll ensure safe and efficient delivery of all capital projects, programmes and parcels demonstrating key focus and setting industry leading safety performance.
The role will lead, work collaboratively with the wider Maintenance and Engineering Services team, and wider businesses to ensure the provision of concise, effective, and efficient commercial assurance. You’ll develop and nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Internal Audit.
What will you be doing?
- Lead a safety culture to ensure all capital work under your responsibility is fully compliant with our obligations, policies and procedures, in particular that all work fully complies with the requirements of the Construction, Design & Management (CDM) Regulations and company policies.
- Establish and sustain a culture of a Healthier, Happier & Safer workforce through ownership and implementation of the LIFE programme across the capital programmes under your portfolio.
- Accountability for the performance of the capital programme including the delivery of efficient and effective risk reduction while maximizing ODI and commercial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory obligations including Construction, Design & Management (CDM) compliance.
- Working across all of Anglian Water as required and responsible for the delivery of Operations Delivered TOTEX solutions, including reporting to the appropriate Governance boards as required.
- Participate in Sub-Business Stream investment governance forums to ensure effective delivery and risk reduction across Anglian Water as required.
- Lead behavioural change in your area of responsibility and its partner’s supply chain and suppliers to embed and deliver TOTEX.
- Ensure development of your team including the performance of employees to ensure that the business area has the relevant skills required to deliver against the overall Commercial Operations plan.
- Coach and support team members on promotion of appropriate solutions to minimise operational risk and use personal influence to break down barriers to delivery.
- Support and coach the technical development of the necessary skills in your team.
- Drive performance improvement across your area to ensure delivery of ODI, maintain flexibility to ensure that plans can be adapted to suit changing demand and challenges.
- Working closely with alliance partners to develop collaborative working models that deliver partner return and higher level of asset performance in a cost-effective manner.

Skills and experience required:
- Good Knowledge of H&S & CDM regulations
- In depth and broad expertise in water supply processes, abstraction, production, environmental management, process engineering, process optimisation, water transmission and storage
- An experienced people manager with a strong track record of delivery and development of teams and team members
- Good knowledge of the water regulatory environment.
- Demonstrable understanding of process safety principles
- Educated to degree level or equivalent IOSH qualification
- Ability to challenge others constructively
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve ‘win-win’ scenarios
- Excellent stakeholder management skills – multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication and reporting skills – written and verbal
- Experience of working within a commercial framework
- Ability to manage workload of self and others to tight deadlines
- Good IT skills
- Experience of managing a team
- Knowledge of NEC Option C contracts.
