Helping Anglian Water make informed commercial decisions every day. As a Commercial Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Commercial Manager to drive consistency, insight, and strong governance across Anglian Water’s Centralised Commercial function. Working at the heart of the business, you’ll help align commercial activity across Alliances and delivery routes across our capital programme.
You’ll be instrumental in promoting transparency, accountability, and efficiency in commercial reporting and management. Through high-quality reporting, robust analysis, and a strong audit trail, you’ll help ensure confident decision-making and the delivery of critical financial and performance outputs across the year.
Working closely with the Commercial Services & Assurance teams, you’ll support the delivery of key commercial activities, including:
- Embedding and maintaining Commercial Standards across the function
- Supporting the Alliance Partner Assessment process
- Contributing to Commercial Model and Moderation activities
- Supporting oversight of all our Capital Programme Overheads
- Producing Capital Delivery Index reporting
- Validating weekly Evaluated Receipt Settlement (ERS) payments

As a Commercial Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Commercial Manager and the wider Commercial function to ensure consistency, transparency, and efficiency across capital programmes and alliances. Your work will touch multiple areas, including commercial standards, financial modelling, capital delivery, performance reporting, and payment validation.
You’ll help maintain and improve commercial policies, procedures, and governance frameworks, ensuring all activities are compliant, auditable, and aligned with business standards. You’ll support the management and analysis of alliance and programme data, contribute to financial modelling and moderation processes, and assist with forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting.
You’ll also support the delivery of performance metrics such as the Capital Delivery Index, providing insights into trends and helping senior stakeholders make informed decisions. In addition, you’ll assist with the weekly ERS payment process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to Tier 1 partners, maintaining clear audit trails, and supporting approvals.
Overall, your role will be about driving consistency, accuracy, and transparency in commercial activity while providing the insight and support that helps the business deliver on its financial and operational objectives.

We’re looking for a proactive and organised individual with strong project management and stakeholder engagement experience. You’ll be confident coordinating with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation building relationships to achieve positive outcomes.
You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports and meeting documentation. Comfortable working independently or collaboratively, you’ll manage multiple tasks and deadlines with focus and attention to detail.
You’ll be tech-savvy with an analytical mind, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools like Teams and SharePoint, and you’ll bring a forward-looking, solutions-oriented mindset that drives efficiency and continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Educated to higher education in a relevant subject (A level or equivalent)
- Capable and experienced in commercial reporting
- In depth experience in a commercial environment
- Knowledge and experience of assurance / audit functions
- Proven experience in analytical role with experience in Microsoft Office
- Experience within a collaborative environment
