Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, allowing you to work from home, project offices, and Anglian Water offices. Your primary location will be Anglian Water's office based in Thorpewood, Peterborough or in our Norwich Hub. You will also be expected to visit and work from construction site locations around the region.
As an ECC Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a variety of projects that sit within our AMP8 Capital Investment Programme, managing contracts ranging from £500K to £15M under NEC3 PSC & ECC agreements. You’ll lead on contract management, commercial leadership, and assurance across our Tier 1 Supply Chain Alliances, supporting delivery teams to embed best practice, challenge the status quo, and drive continuous improvement.
You’ll also help to develop and mentor junior team members, role-modelling excellence in contract and commercial management while building strong relationships across our Alliances and Supply Chain ecosystem.
What will you be doing?
- Contract Management & Administration: Lead robust administration and assurance of NEC3/4 contracts across Tier 1 & Tier 2 Supply Chains. Provide commercial and contractual guidance to delivery teams, ensuring compliance, effective change control, and dispute avoidance. Embed best practice, support procurement strategies, and ensure accurate records for audit and cost assurance. Conduct assurance activities such as contract reviews, cost validation, defect management, and final account close-out.
- Performance Management & Project Governance: Monitor and report on project performance, compliance, and risks, providing insights and recommendations. Support governance boards, ensuring deliverables are met and decisions are properly evidenced. Lead initiatives to improve performance, address non-compliance, and enhance customer feedback processes.
- Influencing the Alliancing Approach: Foster a collaborative, open culture across teams and stakeholders, promoting commercial awareness and informed decision-making. Act as a trusted partner across the business, ensuring alignment with governance and commercial models.
- Leadership & Strategy: Support team development, continuous improvement, and embedding effective commercial culture. Act as a role model for innovation, curiosity, and collaboration, mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to strategic goals. Help drive engagement, accountability, and positive outcomes for customers, communities, and the environment.
- Health, Safety & Environment: Champion health, safety, wellbeing, and environmental standards in all activities, leading by example and participating in site visits.

Essential experience / qualifications:
- HND or Degree in construction/engineering/science subject
- NEC3 or NEC 4 Project Manager Accreditation - desirable
- Demonstrable experience in contract and commercial management.
- Demonstrable project management knowledge and experience of a design and construction environment.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of NEC contract management tools.
- Experience in managing individuals within a team.
- Experience in carrying out assurance activities within an NEC contract.
