We’re looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the Pan-Alliance Commissioning team working in the @one Alliance and SPA. This role offers the chance to work on a vast variety of clean water and water recycling projects, helping ensure assets are tested, optimised, and ready for operation before handover. What You’ll Be Doing
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in commissioning activities across a broad range of projects.
- With a focus on safety, quality, and performance, you’ll help ensure that new assets function as intended and deliver long‑term value for our customers and the environment.
- Supporting the planning and execution of commissioning activities on site.
- Collaborating with design, delivery, and operational teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Assisting in site inspections, testing, and performance verification of new assets.
- Producing and maintaining commissioning documentation, including method statements and risk assessments.
- Helping to resolve technical issues and optimise performance.
- Participating in site acceptance testing and early engagement with equipment suppliers.
- Feeding into continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned processes.
About You
- You’re a hands‑on engineer with a collaborative mindset and a passion for technical delivery.
- You’re comfortable working in dynamic site environments and are eager to learn from experienced colleagues while contributing your own expertise.
- An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (HNC desirable).
- Some relevant experience in commissioning, operations, or maintenance (preferably within the water or utilities sector).
- A good understanding of process control, instrumentation, or M&E systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites within 1.5 hours of the advertised location.
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with a willingness to learn and adapt.
