Join our Wastewater (Sewage) team as a front‑line Technician Apprentice and play a vital role in keeping our sites and equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. This is your chance to build a long‑term career with Anglian Water and make a real impact on the environment and our communities. You’ll split your time between college learning and hands‑on experience across our operational sites. You’ll support the wastewater recycling process—collecting, treating and cleaning wastewater before returning it safely to our rivers and seas. This is a practical, outdoor role where no two days are the same. It’s varied, rewarding, and occasionally challenging, but you’ll be part of a supportive team who will help you grow into a skilled technician. Once qualified, you’ll join a 24/7 standby rota because your role is vital. We are very proud of our apprentices here at Anglian Water. Over 87% of our apprentices are still working here at Anglian after 10 years.
What you’ll do:
- Inspect, maintain and care for essential assets and equipment
- Support fault‑finding and respond to issues to help keep our sites running efficiently
- Work and learn alongside experienced mechanical and electrical technicians and follow health & safety rules
- Follow all health & safety procedures
- Take ownership of your development and contribute to team success
What we’re looking for:
- English, Maths and Science (grades 9–4/A*–C) - predicted grades will be accepted if you have not yet completed your exams. Level 2 Functional Skills will also be accepted.
- A genuine interest in the water industry and protecting the environment
- Good communication skills and a strong team mindset
- Willingness to work outdoors and learn new skills
If you do not currently hold a full UK driving licence, you’ll need to obtain one by the end of year two of the programme, or if this isn’t possible due to your age, within one year of your 17th birthday.
What’s in it for you:
- A dedicated mentor and full support network
- Paid holidays, private healthcare, pension, gym and retail discounts
- Nationally recognised qualifications without the student debt
- A welcoming and inclusive environment where you can bring your true self
Applications close: Friday 30th January 2026
Next Steps: Submit your CV and answer five screening questions to share more about you and your motivations for applying.
