The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The exciting role will be to ensure the optimum quality of water is produced from our water treatment works and risks to this are mitigated. Focusing on quality source to source, through a mixture of onsite work and using data, you will continually be looking at getting the optimum quality of wholesome water out for our customers. Working alongside Operational colleagues, you will provide scientific understanding and effectively challenge our processes to safely produce wholesome water. During reactive events, you will use your scientific understanding and appreciation of actions to successfully and safely navigate incidents.
Responsibilities
- Regular review of water quality standards across the area to support excellent water quality from treatment works.
- Proactive interventions will include onsite interaction where early warning process performance deteriorations occur, and regular data interrogation to identify process performance deteriorations.
- Identify and investigate water quality risks from source to tap ensuring appropriate mitigation is in place including abstraction management.
- Deliver and continually improve water quality risk assessments.
- Undertake comprehensive onsite water quality investigations following proactive or preventative triggers and ensure water quality action plans are prepared.
- Deliver the company's Drinking Water Safety Planning approach.
- Be the key point of contact for local operations teams for water quality risk assessment.
- Lead the development of short- and medium-term strategies to reduce risks to water quality.
- Be part of an out of hours standby process support for the business across the region.
- Provide scientific advice on Regulation 31.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree or postgraduate level in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Able to critically evaluate information to take tactical action.
- Excellent data interpretation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with operational colleagues.
- Able to influence those around you in making positive decisions to protect wholesomeness of our water.
