We're looking for a Cost Analyst to provide specialist cost, commercial and financial (non accounting) support across our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure cost challenge, value for money and strong commercial governance across complex supplier and delivery frameworks.
- Support tender activity, cost assurance, commercial performance reporting and continuous improvement of commercial processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert, helping teams make informed, value‑focused decisions.
- Support competitive tenders, mini‑competitions, call‑off orders and Best‑for‑Task resourcing within DDaT frameworks.
- Administer cost and commercial processes, ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and framework terms.
- Provide cost and commercial SME input into evaluations, moderation and lessons‑learned activities.
- Support contract administration, cost capture and challenge of cost estimates and change requests.
- Produce financial and cost performance reporting, dashboards and KPIs.
- Support assurance, audit activity and contract compliance across DDaT frameworks.
- Ensure suppliers comply with cost, contractual and reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve, streamline or automate cost control and reporting processes.
- Support BAU continuity across the wider Commercial Team.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of cost analysis, commercial and contract management principles.
- Experience supporting tenders, cost control, contract management or framework governance.
- Ability to analyse financial and cost data to identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities.
- Confidence working with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to challenge constructively.
- Highly organised and able to deliver quality outputs to tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working autonomously while contributing effectively within a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and reporting tools.
- Power BI experience (Desirable).
