As a Sewer Technician in Water Recycling Services, you will safeguard the environment, public health, and maintain critical infrastructure by tackling network issues such as blockages, odours, flooding and incidents. You will deliver exceptional service levels while adhering to regulatory standards, and be ready to handle stand‑by duties for out‑of‑hours work. Safety is paramount, and you will uphold all health and safety protocols.

Your duties will include:

  • Operating a single‑person high‑pressure water jetting unit, receiving training on its use and specific CCTV equipment
  • Identifying and promoting repair work for problems found on our sewerage network
  • Investigating and providing first‑time resolutions for sewerage issues encountered by customers
  • Responding to incidents and completing planned maintenance work
  • Accurately collating and recording all feedback from site through our IT systems
  • Predominantly lone working, engaging with internal and external customers on a daily basis

What does it take to be a Drainage Operative?

  • Experience or willingness to work outside in all weathers
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and use your own initiative
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Full driving licence (4.5 tonne licence advantageous, training provided if needed)
  • Capacity to work within confined spaces and at height without restrictions; maximum weight cannot exceed 113 kilograms
  • Completion of relevant occupational health checks, including Hand‑arm Vibration (HAV)
