The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join the @one Alliance and play a key role in shaping the future of water infrastructure across the East of England. As a Senior Estimator, you will be a vital part of either our Central Estimating Team or embedded within a Business Unit, supporting a wide range of projects including Water & Water Recycling Treatment Plants, Pipelines and Pumping Stations & Reservoirs and Network Storage. Working within an outperformance contract model, you will lead on developing robust cost estimates while challenging all aspects of construction costs, risk, and overheads.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Estimation & Project Support
    • Produce CAPEX estimates across optioneering, outline, and detailed design stages
    • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define scope and buildability
    • Engage with supply chain partners to obtain accurate quotations
    • Prepare estimates using industry software and MS Excel
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Advise and challenge on design requirements and cost impacts
    • Support delivery teams with estimating strategy and alliance processes
    • Manage priorities and expectations across multiple stakeholders
  • Leadership & Development
    • Mentor and support junior estimators
    • Potential line management responsibilities
    • Deputise for the Head of Estimating when required
  • Systems & Continuous Improvement
    • Develop and maintain cost models and libraries
    • Identify efficiencies and implement best practice
    • Maintain and analyse data within cost bases
    • Ensure smooth handover of estimates to delivery teams
    • Align estimates with Anglian Water cost capture requirements
  • Commercial & Cost Capture
    • Ensure smooth handover of estimates to delivery teams

  • Health, Safety & Wellbeing
    • Champion a strong safety culture and “Safer Every Day” mindset

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced Estimator ready for a senior role
  • Educated to degree level (Engineering, Quantity Surveying) or equivalent experience
  • Experienced in infrastructure, utilities, or construction environments
  • Confident working across civil, mechanical, electrical, or process disciplines
