Workshop Technician & Supervisor – Vehicle & Plant

Job Overview

Location: Grimsby (primarily site-based, flexibility required for other areas)

Salary: Circa -£36,500

Time Type: Full time – 37 hours a week (Monday – Friday)

About the Role:

Are you a qualified vehicle technician looking to take on more responsibility? This role is for someone who can carry out key duties while supervising the team.

Key Duties:

  • Actively involved in carrying out the day-to-day maintenance and repairs to the vehicles.
  • Control workload through service centre.
  • Monitor & control service & MOT programme.
  • Provide an efficient, cost-effective & quality service for the vehicle & plant fleet, ensuring minimum vehicle off-road time for our critical fleet.
  • Ensure vehicles & equipment are inspected/serviced in line with the attention due programme and maintained to manufacturers’ recommendations.
  • Comply with Ministry of Transport legislation.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and tested.
  • Acceptance of new vehicles and control de-fleet process.
  • Inspection/service and repair of company assets.
  • Comply with Health & Safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Motor trade experience and strong industry knowledge.
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in relevant discipline.
  • Experience within a workshop environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or be willing to complete the course).
  • Ability to adapt communication style (both written and verbal) to suit a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel and able to interpret data or information and act accordingly.
