What will you be doing?

As a Sewer Maintenance Technician specialising in environmental risk mitigation, you will safeguard against flooding and pollution threats through detailed inspections, preventive measures, coordination with specialised departments, customer‑facing communication, and support of pollution incident response and clean‑up operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of assets.
  • Implement preventative measures to mitigate risk.
  • Coordinate with specialised departments for maintenance tasks.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Support pollution incident response and clean‑up efforts.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of the sewerage network, including pumping stations.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Proactive, hands‑on approach to work.
  • Analytical thinking and ability to identify and spot errors quickly.
  • Customer focused.
  • Flexible attitude to support the wider team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Capacity to work within confined spaces, at heights, and under harness limits (maximum weight 113kg).

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to work within a confined space and at height without restrictions.
  • Must be able to complete relevant occupational health checks, including hand‑arm vibration assessments.
