Here within the @one Alliance we are a totally collaborative organisation made up of our eight partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO) and our extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. We’ll be embarking on a new kind of project delivery focusing on nature-based solutions like wetlands and urban drainage schemes.
With such an exciting portfolio of projects planned for AMP8 to keep the water flowing across the region, our ability to manage our work and outperform against our customer’s expectations will come under greater scrutiny.
With many sites based around our region, it is essential our places of work are set up efficiently and safely to ensure we can meet our project time frames in the safest way possible. To meet these objectives, we are looking for a Supervisor (Mechanical) to join us!
What will you be doing as our new Supervisor (Mechanical)?
You’ll site supervise and input into projects from inception to completion. You’ll be site-based with regular communication between other members of the delivery team based in the local office. Working with the Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the delivery teams and sub-contractors on site, and effectively communicate tasks to the direct labour teams where available as well as predominately sub-contractors to meet delivery programmes.
You’ll be expected to carry out the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, quality, environmental and performance standards and ensuring all work meets required water industry regulations and Anglian Water approved standards.
Key responsibilities:
Implement @One requirements and statutory legal regulations paying specific attention to HSE legislation.
Carry out and record site inspections of site, plant, equipment, structures, and excavations.
Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements, review and amend risk assessments.
Ensure site personnel have job relevant training requirements and is entered on site personnel training register.
Encourage and promote near miss reporting ensuring close outs delivered and fed back to site manager and operatives through the electronic reporting.
Ensure inspection and test plans are written & being adhered to maintaining highest levels of quality of control.
Ensure high levels of safety are observed during pressure testing and record keeping is accurate and maintained during project delivery.
Schedule, co-ordinate and supervise the daily activities of gangs/site operatives.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours….
To join us as a Site Mechanical Supervisor, you’ll hold a relevant Mechanical Qualification & proven experience in a similar role along with a CSCS supervisor card and a CITB SMSTS qualification. Be HSG47 Trained in underground service avoidance and SEATS Environmental awareness and have a proven track record with delivering of a range of small to large sized schemes or supervisory experience on multiple schemes at any one time.
Demonstrating previous supervisor experience and being comfortable leading by example, you’ll have proven problem-solving skills in a Mechanical environment. Open to adopting new technology and procedures whilst developing yourself professionally, and encourage, support and mentor a range of different operatives on site.
Extensive travel across the Anglian Water region is required as permit issue is to be in person at point of work.
