We’re looking for a Senior Project Engineer with a strong focus on civils and construction activities, to support the successful delivery of our Storage Point refurbishment programme within our Supply Maintenance Delivery (SMD) function. Working alongside the Civils Delivery Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role across inspection, engineering, and construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and business requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine technical expertise with leadership and programme delivery in a critical operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the safe and compliant delivery of refurbishment works, ensuring alignment with CDM Regulations, Health & Safety standards, and Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) requirements.
  • Champion a strong safety culture across delivery teams and contractors, undertaking site audits and ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Operations, Water Quality, Design, and Commercial teams to identify risks, optimise delivery, and minimise impact.
  • Oversee programme planning, cost tracking, risk management, and governance processes, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with NEC contract requirements.
  • Provide leadership to delivery teams, including line management of technicians, supporting capability development and driving high performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation by working with enablement teams to enhance efficiency and delivery outcomes.
  • Support capital maintenance delivery from prioritisation through to execution, ensuring value for money and long-term asset integrity.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering civils or capital maintenance programmes within utilities, infrastructure, or regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, health & safety compliance, and construction or refurbishment activities.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders, collaborate across functions, and influence delivery outcomes.
  • Experience in programme planning, risk management, and cost control, with knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience supporting or leading teams.
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience (e.g. engineering-based background, IOSH, or professional membership desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence required.
