You will help ensure that capital and operational cost data is captured, assured and translated into insights that influence strategic decisions across the organisation.What you'll be doing:Develop and maintain benchmarking datasets comparing unit costs, productivity and delivery efficiencyMonitor and report on market trends, including materials, labour, energy and commodity price movementsAnalyse supplier cost movements across frameworks and contract types to identify trends, risks and variancesSupport regulatory submissions with robust, evidence-based cost and benchmarking insightStrengthen the link between cost estimation, cost capture, supplier pricing and commercial agreementsQuality-assure cost data submitted by service providers, resolving anomalies with finance, delivery and supplier teamsPrepare audit packs and support assurance activity to demonstrate consistency between systemsDevelop cost intelligence reporting that identifies opportunities for efficiency and continuous improvementCalibrate and validate models using outturn performance and real‑world data.Support and develop Cost Intelligence Analysts where workload or capability support is requiredWhat we're looking forDegree level qualification or equivalent experience in a technical, quantitative or commercial disciplineProven experience working with cost models, estimating, benchmarking or commercial dataStrong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and confidence handling complex datasetsUnderstanding of infrastructure assets from strategic, tactical and operational perspectivesKnowledge of cost collection structures, system coding and data governanceExperience working in a regulated environment and supporting price review or regulatory evidenceExcellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge constructivelyConfident using Microsoft Office and able to quickly adopt new systems and reporting toolsDesirable: Chartered or working towards chartership with an appropriate professional body such as RICS.
