As a senior leader within the Sustainability Directorate, the Head of Climate Change will lead the organisation’s strategic response to climate change. This role ensures long-term resilience, regulatory compliance, and credible progress on climate adaptation, decarbonisation, and energy management.
In this role, you will provide expert leadership on climate risk, Net Zero delivery, and energy strategy, embedding climate responsibility across the organisation and supporting evidence-based investment and operational decisions that protect customers, the environment, and organisational assets. As part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) within the business unit, and as part of the wider company SLT, you will inspire and empower teams to perform at their full potential, driving strong business performance whilst influencing the policy landscape to drive significant benefits for the region we serve.
Key responsibilities- Accountable for ensuring all legislative requirements and best practice are fully enshrined in our management systems, including our policies, standards and methodologies, and will provide assurance that we have effective climate and energy related controls in place.
- Support and maintain the development of climate risk registers and adaptation strategies, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
Senior leadership experience in climate, carbon, or energy roles.
Experience influencing senior leaders and Boards.
Experience in risk assessment and decision making under uncertainty.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
