Be at the Heart of Rutland Water.

You’ll work alongside the team in all weather – repairing, cleaning, patrolling, checking, and problem-solving – while inspiring to deliver excellent customer service and maintaining the site to the highest standard. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, solving practical challenges, this role is for you.

What the role entails:

As Rutland Water is operational 7 days a week, 52 weeks per year (excluding Christmas Day), you will need to be flexible to work across peak seasons, major events within the calendar and step in to help across the site where needed. Typically, you work longer days in the summer and shorter days in the winter.

  • Customer engagement: Welcome and assist visitors and anglers on-site, answering questions and ensuring they have a great experience. Promote the Anglian Water brand and all our water parks.
  • Hands-on operations: Help with everything from repairing and servicing facilities to groundskeeping, cleaning, and boat maintenance. Keep equipment and tools in good working order. Patrolling the site to ensure public safety, environmental protection, and compliance with site rules. Respond to emergencies and incidents as needed.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with the Head Ranger to deliver high standards across the park.

What does it take to become a Ranger?

  • Hold a full, valid driving licence.
  • Is passionate about Rutland Water and everything the park has to offer.
  • Enjoys physical work, outdoors in all seasons.
  • Brings strong hands-on maintenance and practical skills (e.g. fencing, repairs, facilities upkeep).
  • Is customer-focused with a friendly, approachable manner.
  • Willing to work weekends, bank holidays, and occasional evenings as part of a rota.
