We’re looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the Pan-Alliance Commissioning team working in the @one Alliance and SPA. This role offers the chance to work on a vast variety of clean water and water recycling projects, helping ensure assets are tested, optimised, and ready for operation before handover. What You’ll Be Doing

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in commissioning activities across a broad range of projects. With a focus on safety, quality, and performance, you’ll help ensure that new assets function as intended and deliver long-term value for our customers and the environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning and execution of commissioning activities on site
  • Collaborating with design, delivery, and operational teams to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Assisting in site inspections, testing, and performance verification of new assets
  • Producing and maintaining commissioning documentation, including method statements and risk assessments
  • Helping to resolve technical issues and optimise performance
  • Participating in site acceptance testing and early engagement with equipment suppliers
  • Feeding into continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned processes

About You

You’re a hands-on engineer with a collaborative mindset and a passion for technical delivery. You’re comfortable working in dynamic site environments and are eager to learn from experienced colleagues while contributing your own expertise. To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (HNC Desirable)
  • Some relevant experience in commissioning, operations, or maintenance (preferably within the water or utilities sector)
  • A good understanding of process control, instrumentation, or M&E systems
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites within 1.5 hours of the advertised location
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a willingness to learn and adapt
