Salary: Circa £35,000 depending on experience

Location: Flexible across the Anglian Water Region with regular travel to offices in Huntingdon and Peterborough

Working Pattern: Hybrid working – 2–3 days per week in the office

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (With opportunities for part-time)

We supply safe drinking water to 4.3 million customers in towns and villages from Grimsby in the northeast of our region to Milton Keynes at the south-western tip.

As a Technical Assistant, you’ll provide high-level executive, administrative and technical support to the Water Supply Leadership Team. Reporting to the Water Supply Director, you’ll play a vital role in enabling the Senior Leadership Team by managing complex diaries, communications and meetings, and coordinating technical documentation and governance activity. Operating with professionalism, discretion and confidence, you’ll work closely with senior leaders, operational teams and stakeholders across the business in a fast-paced leadership environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure compliance with Anglian Water Health, Safety and Wellbeing principles, driving a culture of continuous improvement
  • Provide proactive, professional support to senior leaders, acting as a key point of contact internally and externally
  • Manage complex diaries, correspondence and inboxes, prioritising competing demands and drafting responses where appropriate
  • Organise meetings, workshops, site visits and board-level sessions, including agendas, papers, logistics and minute taking
  • Prepare, format and quality-check reports, presentations, dashboards and technical documentation
  • Maintain accurate action logs, document control and structured filing systems
  • Support governance, compliance and audit readiness across the directorate
  • Build strong working relationships with leadership teams, operational managers and partners
  • Communicate clearly and consistently across teams, enabling effective collaboration and supporting a high-performing team environment
  • Coordinate travel, accommodation and events in line with company processes

Requirements

  • Proven advanced administrative and organisational experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Experience of minute taking and supporting formal governance meetings
  • Experience supporting senior leaders within a complex or technical organisation would be beneficial
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication, time-management and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to work with discretion, integrity and professional judgement
