Sampling Scheduler
Circa £11,648 dependent on skills and experience, Part time – 2 days per week, Fixed term contract – until 25th May 2027, Hybrid working – with some office based work in Central Laboratory in Huntingdon.
We clean, disinfect and test drinking water before it reaches our customers, ensuring safety for consumption and environmental protection.
Our samplers travel across the Anglian Water region to collect water samples from treatment works, recycling centres, boreholes, reservoirs, rivers and customer properties, carrying out on‑site chlorine tests.
We are looking for a Sampling Scheduler to help plan and coordinate the sampling programme to meet regulatory and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in sample scheduling as required and maintain a broad technical understanding of methods in your area of responsibility.
- Demonstrate flexible working to ensure all samples are scheduled as planned, providing team cover as required.
- Deliver an effective and efficient service whilst maximizing team flexibility.
- Participate in operational rotas and work schedules in line with business needs.
- Communicate with Sampling Managers and Samplers to capture unplanned absence and update the sampling schedule, ensuring all samples are accounted for (e. g., sickness, vehicle breakdowns).
- Support Sampling Managers to record planned absence, agreeing weekly prior to approval (e. g., annual leave).
Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge and experience sufficient to resolve complex technical problems.
- Able to troubleshoot, resolve and minimize issues.
- Able to analyse, compare, interpret and make judgments.
- Able to work to deadlines and prioritize workloads.
- Understand customer requirements and how customers use our analytical data.
- Able to effectively communicate at all levels.
