We’re looking for an exceptional finance leader to join Anglian Water as our Head of Finance – Water Recycling Services (WRS). This is a pivotal role within our Finance Leadership Team, taking ownership of a multi-year, multi-million-pound investment portfolio of both Operational and Capital expenditure. You’ll be driving performance and enabling our operational directorates to deliver for customers, communities, and the environment.
As a trusted partner to senior business leaders, you’ll create value by improving the quality of decisions, providing insightful financial leadership, and ensuring that the long term sustainability of our business underpins every choice we make. Key Responsibilities- Shape strategy & drive performance
- Lead the financial and commercial agenda, ensuring clarity, challenge, and insight across OPEX, CAPEX and TOTEX performance
- Provide strategic financial leadership to support long term planning, price reviews and major investment decisions
- Use data, analytics, and industry comparators to help the business achieve first quartile performance
- Challenge and support the business through the next phase of its transformation ensuring it’s biggest ever investment period is delivered efficiently and effectively
- Act as a trusted adviser
- Be the single point of contact between Finance and the WRS leadership teams
- Advise on all key financial decisions and ensure priorities are aligned across Finance, operations, and strategic programmes
- Build strong, influential relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders
- Strengthen governance & financial control
- Own financial risk management for WRS and ensure governance frameworks are applied consistently
- Provide robust forecasting, reporting, and oversight of financial performance
- Drive standardisation and continuous improvement, supporting automation and best practice processes
- Lead and inspire
- Lead a newly formed team of highly engaged financial professionals to deliver a first class financial control and insight to the business to drive outcomes for our customers
- Build capability, develop talent, and embed a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability
- Role model Anglian Water’s behaviours and champion our commitment to Health, Safety & Wellbeing through our Safer Every Day ethos
- A recognised professional finance qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally in a complex, regulated, capital intensive organisation
- Your extensive experience in utility and infrastructure, to create new ways of working and drive innovation in how we deliver every day
- Proven success driving performance, delivering insight, and shaping financial strategy alongside executive leaders
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex commercial issues into financial impacts
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Experience leading multi-layered teams and uplifting capability through coaching and development
