The Lead Maintenance Engineer will play a pivotal role in the oversight and delivery of critical maintenance activities, with a particular focus on process safety critical tasks. The role is responsible for delivering a comprehensive maintenance programme across designated sites, including time-based, condition-based, and performance based interventions through the local maintenance teams and designated framework contractors, while driving improvements that reduce asset downtime and increase asset availability.
You will also play a key role in aligning planned work with local shutdowns to improve efficiency in the delivery of planned, condition-based, and performance-based maintenance activities. We are seeking an individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses strong communication skills to effectively liaise with a wide range of teams.
You will:
- Drive improvements in the performance and efficiency of operational assets and maintenance activities within the assigned area.
- Ensure the effective day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive maintenance work.
- Own the design, development, and optimisation of Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) routes and associated alerts.
- Ensure all safety critical equipment maintenance activities are completed on time and in line with compliance requirements.
- Provide mechanical and electrical technical support to Maintenance Managers and their teams.
- Lead and undertake project work within the area, including initiatives to reduce operating costs and optimise mechanical and electrical asset performance.
What does it take to be a Lead Maintenance Engineer?
- Possess a NVQ Level 3/4 or equivalent in a relevant maintenance discipline is essential.
- Proven practical experience of fault finding and improvement of mechanical and electrical assets through Planned Preventative Maintenance and strong Root Cause Analysis skills.
- Good understanding of Contractor management and MOC policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Water Recycling processes and associated Health and Safety requirements knowledge is essential.
- Experience using various IT programmes including SAP, IRIS and Power BI.
- Flexible approach to work as the sites operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Advocate of collaboration.
- Forward thinking and pro-active individual.
- Full UK driving license.
Salary: Circa £50,000, depending on skills and experience.
