Environmental Pollution Technician Salary: £31,720 per annum (+ standby and overtime) & Business use of Company Van

Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (flexible working opportunities available, plus standby rota)
About the role
Do you want a role where you can make a real difference to the environment every day? We're looking for an Environmental Pollution Technician to join our Water Recycling team, helping to protect and enhance the environment across our region. This is a varied, hands‑on role where you'll work outdoors, respond to environmental incidents, support investigations and play a key part in reducing pollution and protecting local watercourses.

What will you be doing?
- Responding to pollution and environmental incidents across the region.
- Collecting environmental samples, photographs and site evidence.
- Assessing environmental impacts and supporting mitigation activity.
- Helping operational teams identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence.
- Installing, maintaining and recovering environmental monitoring equipment.
- Maintaining pollution response equipment and consumables.
- Collaborating with operational teams, scientists and environmental specialists.
- Promoting a proactive, zero‑pollutions mindset across the business.
What does it take to be successful?
- A full UK manual driving licence.
- Availability to participate in a standby rota and out‑of‑hours working.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and record‑keeping abilities.
- A proactive, adaptable and resilient approach to work.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Confidence using digital systems and technology.
- The ability to work safely in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
- Experience within the environmental or water industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
