Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you are responsible for the successful completion of routine, reactive remedial work on the sites we operate on, working in a safe efficient manner at all times. In this exciting role as the regional MRA (Mining Remediation Authority) Instrument Technician, you are responsible for ensuring all instruments are fully operational and calibrated to industry standards. Ensuring routine maintenance, and troubleshooting are conducted to a high standard which in turn ensures reliability, efficiency, and safety are optimised.
This role will participate in our ‘out of hours’ emergency standby rota, attending call outs in a timely manner and proactively carrying out repairs to ensure compliance is maintained.
Key responsibilities:- Perform preventative and emergency maintenance on instrumentation systems and control valves to minimise downtime
- Carry out daily routine maintenance work on various treatment facilities, including general cleaning, sampling, and maintenance tasks
- Install, set up, and test new instrumentation components during project work or facility upgrades
- Assist the Regional Operations Manager in planning daily routes in an efficient/productive manner
- Provide excellent data and verbal feedback to Head Office in a variety of media
- Maintain an excellent standard of Health and Safety ensuring all issues, concerns and incidents are reported correctly, in a timely manner
- Adhere to all Alpheus/Client’s procedures, policies, work instructions and requirements
- Ensure you are in possession of, and wearing appropriate PPE and safety equipment when required and reporting any deficiencies immediately
- Responsible for site safety and site tidiness to the highest standards

Experience of a broad range of water and wastewater treatment technologies
Strong understanding of engineering theory, industrial control systems and electronics
Skilled in using calibration equipment and diagnostic tools
Excellent Health and Safety knowledge and experience
Good knowledge of key aspects of environmental legislation
Excellent communication skills with a professional manner when dealing with clients
Excellent technical/operational and process knowledge
Logical, methodical and well organised
Excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail
Analytical and problem-solving skills
