What Will You Be Doing as an Assistant Leakage Technician (Noise Logging)?

As an Assistant Leakage Technician, you will play a vital role in helping Anglian Water reduce leakage across our network and supporting the Leakage teams in identifying and resolving leaks. Working in the Milton Keynes Noise Logging team, you’ll be deploying noise logging sensors on the water network and collecting vital data to help our analysts identify where potential leaks might be. This is a field-based role where no two days are the same and you'll spend most of your time outdoors, travelling across the region and helping us deliver our goal of achieving world-leading leakage performance while providing a first-class customer experience. You'll receive full training, a company-use van stocked with industry-leading technology, and ongoing support from experienced colleagues to help you succeed and develop your career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy Noise Loggers on key network assets to collect data that identifies where leaks are
  • Work in accordance with approved NRSWA Street Works procedures and water hygiene standards
  • Investigate potential ad-hoc leaks using appropriate sample chlorination-testing techniques, and reporting to the relevant teams for follow up investigation
  • Deliver excellent customer service at every interaction, ensuring customers have a positive experience dealing with our employees
  • Work collaboratively with other leakage teams, schedulers, analysts, project managers
  • Accurately record all work activities, survey findings, and interactions using company systems including Oracle
  • Ensure all job notes, records, and work management information are completed to a high standard
  • Follow safe systems of work and adhere to all water quality, hygiene, and health and safety procedures
  • Support business incidents and operational priorities when required

  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • Good level of IT literacy and confidence using handheld devices and operational systems
  • Customer service experience and a passion for delivering excellent service
  • Comfortable travelling throughout the region using a company vehicle
  • Physically fit and able to carry equipment, undertake lifting activities, and work outdoors regularly
  • Ability to read maps, plans, and network information (training provided)
  • Strong written and numerical skills with attention to detail when recording information
  • Able to manage risk and make sensible decisions in a dynamic operational environment
  • Driven, self-motivated, and eager to learn new skills and technologies
