Anglian Water is seeking a detail‑driven and commercially minded Commercial Assistant to join our Supply Maintenance Delivery Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a small team of commercial professionals and play a pivotal role in managing the financial performance of our Supply Maintenance Delivery programme.

As we embrace a new way of working, our newly formed Supply Maintenance Delivery Team is building a fresh inspection and delivery framework, embedding innovative processes, and forging strong partnerships with our partners. It's an exciting time to be part of one of Water Supply's largest capital programmes, where safety, efficiency, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do.
What You'll Be Doing
- Coaching and supporting across the SMD team to ensure accurate, timely submission of cost and scope information
- Managing end‑to‑end cost capture activities, from initial benchmarking data through to final cost allocation
- Acting as a 'super user' of corporate systems such as Asset+, SAP S/4HANA, and M2i (Activ)
- Analysing data quality and performance, resolving issues with the Cost Intelligence Team, and driving continuous improvement
- Raising Purchase Orders, Minor Works Orders, Non‑PO payments, and subcontractor orders in line with governance requirements
- Ensuring TACAs and approvals are in place for all spend, including uplifts and amendments
- Monitoring aged debt, commitments, and goods receipting to minimise financial risk
- Supporting accurate and timely supplier payments through proactive liaison
- Ensuring compliance with safe working practices, audits, inductions, and near‑miss reporting
What We're Looking For
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Strong organisational, administrative, and time‑management skills
- High attention to detail, particularly when working with financial and contractual data
- Excellent data handling, analytical, and reporting skills
- Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using systems such as Asset+, SAP, and M2i (Desirable)
- Knowledge of water or water recycling processes and assets (Desirable)
- Experience supporting procurement or commercial activities in a regulated or capital delivery environment (Desirable)
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Willingness to challenge, improve processes, and share knowledge with others
