We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team based in Swansea. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to further develop their career within the construction industry while working alongside experienced commercial professionals on a range of projects.

The Role

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team with the financial and contractual management of construction projects. Key duties will include:

  • Assisting with cost planning and budgeting
  • Preparing valuations and final accounts
  • Supporting subcontractor procurement and payments
  • Monitoring project costs and variations
  • Assisting with contract administration
  • Producing commercial reports and documentation
  • Attending site meetings and liaising with clients and subcontractors
  • Supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors on live projects

Requirements

  • Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within a Quantity Surveying or construction environment
  • Good understanding of commercial processes within construction
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Knowledge of JCT or NEC contracts
  • Experience within construction, housing, or civil engineering sectors
  • Interest in working towards RICS or CIOB accreditation
