We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team based in Swansea. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to further develop their career within the construction industry while working alongside experienced commercial professionals on a range of projects.
The Role
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team with the financial and contractual management of construction projects. Key duties will include:
- Assisting with cost planning and budgeting
- Preparing valuations and final accounts
- Supporting subcontractor procurement and payments
- Monitoring project costs and variations
- Assisting with contract administration
- Producing commercial reports and documentation
- Attending site meetings and liaising with clients and subcontractors
- Supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors on live projects
Requirements
- Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within a Quantity Surveying or construction environment
- Good understanding of commercial processes within construction
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Knowledge of JCT or NEC contracts
- Experience within construction, housing, or civil engineering sectors
- Interest in working towards RICS or CIOB accreditation
