We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established contractor on an energy infrastructure project based in Swaffham. This is an excellent opportunity to secure an 8-month contract on a live substation project, working within a supportive and experienced commercial team. Experience within the energy, utilities or infrastructure sector would be highly advantageous.

The Role

  • Managing the commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing cost estimates and project budgets
  • Managing subcontractor procurement and tender processes
  • Reviewing and analysing subcontractor quotations
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks
  • Producing valuations, variations and cost reports
  • Managing forecasting and cash flow
  • Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Supporting the Project Manager with commercial decisions
  • Ensuring contractual compliance and risk mitigation

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Background within energy, utilities, civils or infrastructure (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of cost control and commercial management
  • Experience managing subcontractor packages
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Proactive and able to work across multiple workstreams
