Anglian Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Automation & Controls Electrical Technician to join a busy and growing engineering workshop based in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical technician looking for long-term, ongoing work with an immediate start. The successful candidate will be involved in panel building, machine wiring and control system assembly within a workshop environment, with up to 9-hour days available.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Control panel assembly and wiring
- Machine wiring and electrical installation work
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Wiring and testing relays, contactors and control components
- Electrical fault finding and testing
- Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Supporting the build and commissioning of automation equipment
- Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with safety procedures
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in panel wiring, machine wiring or controls engineering
- Strong understanding of relays, contactors and PLC-controlled systems
- Ability to confidently read and understand electrical schematics
- Experience within automation, manufacturing, industrial or machinery environments
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Electrical qualifications are advantageous but practical experience is more important
