Our client, a growing business based in Loddon, Norfolk, is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Financial Controller to join their senior leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional looking to play a key role in driving financial performance, improving processes, and supporting strategic growth within a dynamic organisation.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the finance department
- Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and financial reports
- Lead budgeting and cash flow forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, VAT, and tax regulations
- Manage year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors
- Monitor financial performance and provide commercial analysis to senior management
- Develop and improve financial systems, controls, and reporting processes
- Supervise and mentor finance team members
- Support strategic decision-making through detailed financial insight and analysis
- Manage banking relationships and oversee treasury functions
- Ensure accurate payroll oversight and financial reconciliations
Candidate Requirements
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance position
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Excellent analytical and commercial awareness
- Experience managing teams and improving financial processes
- Strong systems knowledge including Excel and accounting software
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Desirable Experience
- Experience within SME or growing businesses
- Exposure to construction, engineering or commercial sectors
