Our client, a growing business based in Loddon, Norfolk, is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Financial Controller to join their senior leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional looking to play a key role in driving financial performance, improving processes, and supporting strategic growth within a dynamic organisation.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the finance department
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and financial reports
  • Lead budgeting and cash flow forecasting processes
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, VAT, and tax regulations
  • Manage year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors
  • Monitor financial performance and provide commercial analysis to senior management
  • Develop and improve financial systems, controls, and reporting processes
  • Supervise and mentor finance team members
  • Support strategic decision-making through detailed financial insight and analysis
  • Manage banking relationships and oversee treasury functions
  • Ensure accurate payroll oversight and financial reconciliations

Candidate Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance position
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Excellent analytical and commercial awareness
  • Experience managing teams and improving financial processes
  • Strong systems knowledge including Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within SME or growing businesses
  • Exposure to construction, engineering or commercial sectors
