Anglian Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a major substation project based in King's Lynn. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile infrastructure project with a well-established contractor, offering a long-term contract and competitive rates for the right candidate.
The Role
You will be responsible for the commercial management of works associated with a live substation project, ensuring costs are effectively managed whilst supporting the successful delivery of the scheme. Duties will include:
- Managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account
- Cost reporting and forecasting
- Variations and change control
- Valuations and payment applications
- Commercial risk management
- Contract administration
- Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors and site teams
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working on substation projects
- Proven Quantity Surveying experience within the utilities, power, infrastructure or energy sectors
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts
- Experience managing subcontractor packages
- Excellent commercial awareness and reporting skills
Desirable Experience
- Civil engineering project experience
- Main contractor background
- Utilities, power, transmission or distribution project experience
- Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification
