A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join a successful and growing organisation operating within the construction plant and machinery sector. Covering Norfolk and the wider East Anglia region, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while managing and growing an established customer base. This is a field-based role suited to a motivated sales professional who enjoys building long-term relationships and delivering commercial results.

The Role

  • Promoting a range of construction plant and machinery solutions to contractors, plant hire companies, civil engineering businesses, groundworks contractors, and construction organisations throughout your territory.
  • Developing new business opportunities across East Anglia.
  • Managing and growing existing customer accounts.
  • Conducting customer visits, site meetings, and equipment demonstrations.
  • Building strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Preparing quotations and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Managing your sales pipeline and maintaining accurate CRM records.
  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  • Attending industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities to promote additional products and services.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in an Area Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, or similar field-based sales role.
  • Proven experience selling construction plant, heavy machinery, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, material handling equipment, or related products.
  • Strong understanding of the construction, plant hire, or machinery sector.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercially aware with strong negotiation abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing a territory independently.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
