Location: Swaffham, Norfolk
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established contractor on an energy infrastructure project based in Swaffham. This is an excellent opportunity to secure an 8-month contract on a live substation project, working within a supportive and experienced commercial team. A permanent position is also available within the company.
Experience within the energy, utilities or infrastructure sector would be highly advantageous.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to final account.
- Preparing cost estimates and project budgets
- Managing subcontractor procurement and tender processes
- Reviewing and analysing subcontractor quotations
- Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks
- Producing valuations, variations and cost reports
- Managing forecasting and cash flow
- Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
- Supporting the Project Manager with commercial decisions
- Ensuring contractual compliance and risk mitigation
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Background within energy, utilities, civils or infrastructure (preferred)
- Strong understanding of cost control and commercial management
- Experience managing subcontractor packages
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Proactive and able to work across multiple workstreams
