We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Business and Economics to join our thriving department. This is an exciting opportunity to teach across a comprehensive age and ability range within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with departmental schemes of work
- Teach students according to their individual educational needs, liaising with SEND and support staff where appropriate
- Assess, record and report on student progress in line with school policies
- Prepare students for public examinations and contribute to assessment processes
- Deliver cross-curricular themes and contribute to curriculum development
- Act as a Form Tutor, supporting the welfare and academic progression of a designated cohort
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and health & safety
You will also contribute to departmental development, resource management, extra-curricular provision, staff development, and the induction of trainees and ECTs.
Person Specification
- Degree in a relevant subject
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Successful teaching experience (ITT placements or as a qualified teacher)
- Strong subject expertise in Business and/or Economics
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate, inspire and build strong relationships with students
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Experience in a comprehensive school setting
- Evidence of continued professional development
