We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Business and Economics to join our thriving department. This is an exciting opportunity to teach across a comprehensive age and ability range within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with departmental schemes of work
  • Teach students according to their individual educational needs, liaising with SEND and support staff where appropriate
  • Assess, record and report on student progress in line with school policies
  • Prepare students for public examinations and contribute to assessment processes
  • Deliver cross-curricular themes and contribute to curriculum development
  • Act as a Form Tutor, supporting the welfare and academic progression of a designated cohort
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and health & safety

You will also contribute to departmental development, resource management, extra-curricular provision, staff development, and the induction of trainees and ECTs.

Person Specification

  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Successful teaching experience (ITT placements or as a qualified teacher)
  • Strong subject expertise in Business and/or Economics
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Ability to motivate, inspire and build strong relationships with students
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Experience in a comprehensive school setting
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities
  • Leadership potential
