About the Role
We're looking for a motivated Material Controller Apprentice to join our growing Supply Chain team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start a career in logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain operations. Working under the supervision of the Supply Chain Management team, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and components are available to support manufacturing, while maintaining accurate stock control and efficient inventory processes. You'll also work towards a nationally recognised Supply Chain Apprenticeship qualification, gaining hands-on experience and building valuable industry skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and booking in goods (Goods In)
- Carrying out material quality control checks
- Supporting stock level management and inventory control
- Ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely in line with Health & Safety regulations
- Reporting stock discrepancies, variances, or supply issues
- Following internal quality and claims procedures
- Maintaining clean, organised, and safe storage locations
- Replenishing materials and parts to manufacturing production lines
- Conducting regular stock counts and cycle counts
- Supporting general warehouse and supply chain operations as required
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, organised, and proactive
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable:
- Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, warehouse systems)
- Interest in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing environments
